Cordless Phones:

Alpha Display Caller ID*:
Allows you to view the name as well as the number of previous calls displayed in alphabetical order.

Alpha Memory Dialling:
Allows you to make calls by scrolling through people's names on your phone once you have programmed them into your phone's memory.

Bluetooth Technology:
This enables you to use a special Bluetooth headset without any wires or leads connecting the headset to your phone up to a range of some 10 metres - great for complete handsfree freedom.

Call Screening:
Lets you to listen to the caller leaving the message on the answering machine therefore allowing you to screen your call.

Caller ID Display*:
By subscribing to the Telephone Service Providers 'Caller ID' Service, users can see who is calling before picking up the phone.

Caller Tone Allocation:
Lets you allocate different ring tones to individual phone numbers.

Conferencing:
Depending on the model allows up to four people to participate on one call.

Conversation Record:
Allows the recording of a conversation from the handset or the base (more than 2 seconds and up to 10 minutes)

DECT:
This stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications. Designed for high desnity living, these phone soperate on a 1.8GHz frequency, which is exclusively allocated for transmission by telecommunication equipment.

Digital Spread Spectrum (DSS):
The most advanced digital phones on the market. This technology uses a higher frequency to deliver the best security, range and voice clarity. They use a "wide frequency band" resulting in a more secure conversation with the clarity of digital sound and extended range. Products are available in either a 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz frequency.

Do Not Disturb Button:
Allows you to mute the ringer of the handset and the base at once.

Dual Keypad:
This feature provides cordless telephones with the versatility to make and receive calls from either the handset or base unit.

Digital Duplex Speakerphone:
This may be on the handset and / or base unit to allow for convenient hands-free conversations.

Download Phonebook Between Handsets:
Allows you to transfer one phonebook from one handset to another handset.

ECC:
Echo Canceller Circuit. This built-in technology means the circuit will study the voice level and reduce/cut the echo automatically to imporve sound quality. Available feature in WDECT and DSS cordless phones.

Headset Compatible:
Offers the option to connect a headset to the handset of the telephone for handsfree operation.

Hearing Aid Compatible:
Allows consumers with hearing aids to use Uniden phones by providing inductive coupling for hearing aids fitted with a "T" switch.

Intercom:
Allows 2 way page and 2 way voice communication between the handset and base.

LCD Display:
Liquid Crystal Display.

Multi Handset Capable:
Allows the base to operate with more than one handset, giving you a higher level of convenience and versatility.

Polyphonic Ringtones:
A polyphonic ringtone contains two or more notes that are played simultaneously.

POP ID - Caller Name Identification*:
Store individual names with phone numbers in your phone's memory so you can see the name and phone number of who is calling before picking up the phone.

Remote Access:
Allows you to check for messages remotely when you are away from home.

Rocket Dial:
Dial your most frequently called VIP number with just one key press.

Room / Baby Monitor:
This feature allows you to monitor sounds in another room. Please note the baby monitor function is not a replacement for regularly checking the safety and security of children. The operating time is limited to the remaining charge of the battery and is not suitable for continuous overnight use.

Remote Access:
Allows you to check for messages remotely when you are away from home.

SCR Technology:
Uniden's exclusive 2.4 GHz SCR Technology (Sound, Clarity & Range) uses a shorter wavelength than 30-39MHz analogue cordless phones, leading to a dramatic improvement in your phone's sound clarity.

Speed Dial:
Speed dial numbers can be pre-programmed into the telephone's memory. Allows you to dial a number using just a few key presses.

Standby Time:
The time the handset will operate without the need to recharge the handset battery when not in talk mode.

Talk Time:
The time the handset will operate in the talk mode without the need to recharge the handset battery.

V-Quad Technology (4 Way Voice Enhancer):
Choose from 4 different audio level settings ( Normal, Bass, Alto, Treble) to provide a Natural Voice Enhancer for Superior Clarity and Performance.

WDECT:
A Wideband Digital Technology. These phones offer a longer talking range than most DECT phones and typically a more sophisticated and higher quality of features and performance.

Wireless Network Friendly:
5.8 GHz Technology will not interfere with typical wireless networks such as 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11n as these operate at completely different frequencies.

Visual Message Waiting and New Call Indicator*:
Uniden Phones without integrated answering machines have this feature allowing you to integrate outside voicemail access to your cordless phone.

* Caller ID, POP ID and Visual Message Waiting features only work if you subscribe to the service provided by your telephone company. There is usually a fee for this service. Caller ID Type 2 is currently not available in New Zealand.

Corded Phones

Flash - Also known as recall
This function generates a timed break in the Telephone line. This allows the user to operate Call Waiting, Call Transfer functions, and other special network features. This timed break specification is different between Australia (90~110mS) and New Zealand (300~800mS). Typically Uniden products are set to 100mS for Australia and 580mS for NZ.

Handsfree Speakerphone
Allows hands free operation when receiving a call.

Allows consumers with hearing aids to use Uniden phones by providing inductive coupling for hearing aids fitted with a "T" switch.

Number of Digits for LNR:
Maximum number of digits for last number redial memory.

Number of Digits for Memory:
Maximum number of digits for memory storing.

Memory/Speed Dialling:
Most Uniden phones provide a minimum of at least 10 speed dial numbers which are stored in the telephones' memory.

Polyphonic Tones:
A polyphonic ringtone contains two or more notes that are played simultaneously.

SMS Ready:
Enables you to send and receive SMS Messages between landlines and mobiles.

Two-Line Phone System:
The phone can be used on separate telephone lines at the same time. For example, if the phone is on a call with line 1, you can make or receive a call on line 2.
