TL;DR

The LOOOP range runs from 5W to 100W across four models. Ni, San and Yon support AUX-in and TF (SD) card playback — Ichi is Bluetooth only. All four support TWS pairing. Ni, San and Yon are IP67 waterproof and float. Ichi is IPX4 splashproof only. Full verified specs below.

Shopping for a Bluetooth speaker is easy until you actually need to compare them. Watts sound impressive until you realise you don't know what they mean for your backyard. IP67 sounds technical until you need to know if it floats. AUX-in and SD card support are either there or they're not — and that matters more than most product pages let on.

This is the complete, verified spec breakdown for every model in the Uniden LOOOP range. No marketing language. Just what each speaker does, what it doesn't, and how they stack up against each other.

What do the watts actually mean?

Output wattage is the most headline-grabbing spec on any Bluetooth speaker, and the most misunderstood. Here's what the numbers mean for real-world use across the LOOOP range.

Ichi

5W

Personal listening volume. Fills a small space — a desk, a tent, a balcony table. Clearly audible in a quiet environment. Not built to project across a garden or compete with ambient noise at a gathering.

Ni

30W

Poolside and small gathering volume. Bass-driven output that carries across a backyard or fills a mid-size outdoor space. A meaningful step up — 30W is roughly six times the output of Ichi, which translates to noticeably more presence and low-end.

San

50W

Room-filling, outdoor-entertaining volume. Rich sound that holds up in larger spaces and bigger groups. The point at which the speaker stops disappearing into the background and starts being the audio centre of the space.

Yon

100W

Party and event volume. Immersive, high-powered output designed for larger gatherings, bigger backyards and spaces that need a proper audio centre. The Yon is the only LOOOP model in this category.

IPX4 vs IP67 — what the ratings actually mean

The LOOOP range uses two different water protection ratings. Understanding the difference matters before you decide which model is right for your environment.

IPX4 (Ichi)
Protected against water splashes from any direction. Handles rain, sweat, and accidental splashes. Not designed for immersion. Ichi should not be placed in or near a pool, and it does not float.
IP67 (Ni, San, Yon)
Fully dustproof and protected against temporary immersion up to 1 metre. The "6" means complete dust protection; the "7" means it can handle being submerged briefly. All three are also designed to float — so if they go in, they come back up.
None of them
Are designed for underwater playback. IP67 means they survive accidental immersion — not extended submersion. Follow the product manual for water exposure, drying and charging instructions.

The floating design on the Ni, San and Yon is a deliberate addition to the IP67 rating. A speaker that sinks after an accidental drop at the pool is a problem even if it survives the water. Floating means it stays accessible and retrievable.

Which LOOOP speakers have AUX and SD card support?

This is one of the most searched questions for any portable Bluetooth speaker — and the answer varies significantly across the LOOOP range.

  • Ichi ($49) — Bluetooth 5.3 only. No AUX-in, no USB playback, no TF/SD card. For Ichi, Bluetooth is the only playback source.
  • Ni ($99) — Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in and TF card. Supports MP3 file playback from a card or USB source.
  • San ($149) — Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in and TF card. Supports MP3, WMA and WAV formats.
  • Yon ($199) — Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in and TF card. Supports MP3, WMA, WAV and FLAC formats — the broadest format library in the range.

If AUX-in or SD card playback is a requirement, the Ni is the entry point at $99. The San and Yon add broader audio format support at each step up.

FLAC support — lossless audio playback — is exclusive to the Yon. For anyone playing high-resolution audio files from a TF card, that's the model.

How TWS pairing works across the LOOOP range

All four LOOOP models support True Wireless Stereo (TWS) pairing. TWS lets you connect two compatible speakers together so they work as a stereo pair — one handling left channel, one handling right — for a wider, more expansive sound.

A few practical notes on how this works:

  • TWS pairing works between two speakers of the same compatible model — pair two Yons, two Sans, two Nis, or two Ichis.
  • Doubling up via TWS effectively doubles your output: two Yons gives you 200W of combined audio across a stereo spread.
  • It's a simple way to scale up when the space gets bigger without buying a dedicated sound system.
  • All four models support it — so even the entry-level Ichi can be paired for expanded personal listening.

Which LOOOP speakers can charge your phone?

Three of the four LOOOP models include a USB-A power bank function: the Ni, San and Yon. The Ichi does not list a power bank function.

For a day outdoors — camping, a beach trip, a long backyard session — a speaker that can also top up your phone removes one thing from the list of devices you need to keep track of. The Ni at $99 is the entry point for this feature.

The power bank charges compatible devices via USB-A. Actual charging performance will vary with the device and battery condition. Refer to the product manual for details.
